“If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?  Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”             1 John 3:17-18
Lent is a season of sacrifice.  Jesus gave his life for us on the cross and Lent is a 40-day journey of reflection that leads us to the cross and to the good news of the resurrection.  This year we want to be intentional in the ways that we can give of ourselves and of our resources to care for the poor in Chiapas.  We will discover tangible ways that we can all be involved:  children, youth, and adults.  We will also be challenged to pray that God would call at least ten adults to go on a mission trip to Chiapas this summer.  In addition, we are challenging our church members to give sacrificially to help raise funds to support our missionaries, as well as to help fund our construction project.
