Mark 2:1-17, February 23
Devotional: Mark 2:1-17, February 23
Without judgment, Jesus heals the sicknesses of the body and soul. Instead of being annoyed when his ministry is interrupted by a paralytic lowered through the roof before him, Jesus is impressed with the faith of his friends. He forgives the man’s sins immediately. For this he is rebuked by religious leaders who don’t recognize his authority. Later, he is again rebuked for eating with unworthy tax collectors and sinners. He says, “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” As Jesus was inclusive without judgement, so should we be. Love and serve everyone, not just those we find suitable.
