Mark 9:2-13, March 13
Mark 9:2-13
Together on this mountain top Jesus, Moses and Elijah, are talking, likely preparing for the most significant event in the history of the universe. At the same time we experience Peter, John and James; overcome with panic, as they struggle to comprehend what they see. It is not until we hear the voice of God intervene, “This is my beloved son, Listen to him” that a sense of calm returns to the passage. So often in our lives we fail to hear God's voice when he calls us to stop and listen. Like this moment on the mountain, the truth of God's grace is incomprehensible. Our salvation lies in whether we choose to stop, listen and receive it.
